More info

A 10,000-mile obstacle course awaits you in Super Cobra for the Atari 2600. You'll fly your helicopter over and around craggy mountain ranges and city skyscrapers and through long jagged tunnels. Come in contact with any surface area or obstacle and you'll crash like a blind bandicoot. Igniting rockets, heavy ground artillery, flying fireballs and falling mines conspire to make your trek a treacherous one indeed.

Your chopper is equipped with missiles and bombs. In addition to firing at the various enemy weapons, you'll frequently need to destroy fuel tanks in order to keep aloft. A gauge at the bottom of the screen will help you keep track of your fuel supply.

Lest you think all of this wanton destruction is merely gratuitous violence, there is an objective to the game. At the end of the 11-level course lies some booty (that's money, my dirty-minded friend, not a girl's behind). Represented by the shape of a dollar sign, the booty is heavily guarded by active artillery, rockets and such. Do not let greed overcome you to the point where you become careless, but by all means, swoop down and grab that booty!

Super Cobra is for one pilot only. The game ends when all of your choppers have been destroyed. Prior to beginning a round of play, you can choose one of three different helicopter speeds: slow, medium and fast.
