More info

Now you can take NASCAR racing with you anywhere when you plug NASCAR Challenge into your Nintendo Game Boy Color. Feel the engine rattle your hands with the game's built-in Rumble Pak as you compete against nine other racers on one of three different tracks. Go for the ultimate prize in the Championship Series Circuit.

If you want to get warmed up first, you can do so in Practice Mode. You choose the track, the number of laps, and whether you want an automatic or manual transmission. You can play for one to six laps on any of the tracks: the Topeka Raceway, which is full of plenty of sharp turns; Sonoma Raceway, which offers twilight races and a few long straight-aways; and Seneca Raceway, which has lots of turns that can be tricky because they lead into opposite turns.

If you want to race for real, you can do so in Race Mode. First you enter your name and then you head out for a qualifying run, which is necessary for each track if you're going through the Championship Series Circuit. During the race you'll be up against some of the best drivers in the world, including Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarett and Rusty Wallace.

As you race a map will show you the position of your car and the leader's car on the track while the rest of your display contains a tachometer (for showing RPMs), speedometer, clock, lap counter, race position, gear position, and tire gauge. While your gas supply is unlimited, your tires will wear down, so it's important to pull into the pit stop as soon as the tire gauge indicator tells you to, or else you'll see decreased speed and handling.

You earn points depending on how you finish in each race when you're in the Championship Series Circuit; the overall winner is the one with the most points after all three races.

This game is for one player only and is only compatible with the Game Boy Color.
